American

Female

Born 1866, Died 1946

A native of Providence, Rhode Island, Florence Newell Barbour toured Europe and enjoyed national success as a solo pianist including several radio appearances and the New York State Teachers’ Convention.

As a composer, she wrote prolifically for all levels from the earliest beginners through advanced piano “showpieces.” Unfortunately, few of her pieces seem to have survived over time.
