Annette Dieudonné was one of Nadia Boulanger's first students. She soon became Boulanger’s personal secretary, co-founder of the Fondation Internationale Nadia et Lili Boulanger, and ultimately the executor of Boulanger’s will.
Musically, Dieudonné was a pianist, organist, musicologist and a composer. She was a professor of solfège, harmony and counterpoint at the Conservatoire d'Art Americain in Fontainebleau where Boulanger served as Director from 1949 until 1979.
Douze images en courts préludes was published by Maurice Senart in Paris in 1922. The original score can be found in the HathiTrust Digital Library. It is the only known surviving work by Dieudonné. All pedaling, dynamic or expressive markings are the composer’s own indications. All fingerings are editorial and are offered as a starting point for further study.
